Meetings
This is a 'temporary', pop-up sort of Group in that it will only continue while Artificial Intelligence (AI) is still a hot topic in the media and there is an expressed interest in AI matters from Aughton & Ormskirk u3a members.
So, if you are .............
- Curious to learn more about AI?
- Interested in trying out an AI App?
- Want to advance your tentative dabblings?
- Willing to share your own experience of using AI ?
- Concerned about / would like to discuss some downsides of AI?
............ then keep an eye on this page for relevant meetings (in person and online), resources, demo an whatever comes along.

Although not an AI subject, you may be interested in the next Health & Wellbeing Group's meeting about emoji Science.
If you want to be kept informed about upcoming events, contact the Leader to go on the AI Discovery Beacon email list.
So far, we have run one large meeting and a good number of Practical Demos - see info box below. Some A&O u3a members have come along to an Edge Hill Workshop on AI; others have joined in on Regional and National u3a educational online sessions aimed at raising awareness of the topic.
Practical Demos for Complete Beginners and Early Dabblers
These sessions - based on ChatGPT - are designed for small groups of up to 5 members located in the small Meeting Room. They last about 1 ½ hours and include plenty of time for participants to discuss their own experiences of, and views on, Artificial Intelligence. Eighteen sessions were successfully run in 2025 and January 2026.
If you missed them, still get in touch. Further ones can be run subject to demand.
