The run up to the festive season saw another excellent production from our Drama Group. ‘The Christmas Carol (but not as you know it)’ by Anthony Paul Lashley was directed by Diane Higgins. Not only was Diane directing and playing more than one role, she also had some last minute issues to deal with when several mishaps just ahead of performances meant a couple of players were no longer able to perform.

Well done for the speedy adaptations and to those who stepped up to provide the audience with a seamless show. Also, hats off to John Tomlinson who had the most lines to learn and gave us a perfect Scrooge. Despite the traditional message of ‘Mend your ways, Ebenezer Scrooge’, there was frivolity and con fusion between Jacob Marley and Bob Marley, and some corny gags from Tiny Tim’s Big Book of Witty Jokes, all of which the audience thoroughly enjoyed.

I’ve heard several people comment on the impressive scenery and costumes. There is clearly a lot of work that goes into getting every aspect of the show just right. Congratulations to the whole team for pulling it off.
