Body, mind and spirit all benefit in this most social of activities which offers fun, comradeship and a feeling of wellbeing as well as a good sing. The Choir sings a wide range of music including musical theatre, traditional, classical, popular and sacred, the overall aim being to give all members the enjoyment and benefits of choral singing. There are no auditions to join the Choir, and basic support is given to new members who need help to read music. We are a very friendly group and newcomers are always made welcome.

This Year

2026 Summer Concert

Our working title is “Songs from Stage and Screen”.  That should give you a clue!  We will be performing this at Aughton Village Hall on Friday, 3rd July. Please save the date.

We are already in full rehearsal mode, why not come and join us?  Our sessions are very sociable and lively and never boring.

Last Year

2025 Summer Concert

After a slight postponement our Summer Concert took place on 23rd August.  It was a sell out!   We sang a wide range of songs with a summer theme which spanned 700 years of music.  The atmosphere in the hall was joyful.  In addition to the choir's singing our MD Anne Hedges gave a magnificent rendition of 'Cry me a river' and Heidi Henders wowed us with 'I don't know how to love him' and 'The winner takes it all'.    Many thanks to all those who came to support and enjoy the evening.

2025 Christmas Events

Many thanks to all those who attended the Advent service last December.  It was a joyous occasion, enjoyed by all those who came.  We also collected enough donations to the food bank to supply over 100 meals.  They were delighted to receive this gift.

The u3a Choir also sang at Rufford Old Hall and the Dementia Cafe in Cottage Lane Mission. We’ve been booked to go back to both venues next December!
