Eddie Humphreys is one of our own U3A members who has had a veryinteresting career within the Police Force.

He will begin his talk with a brief outline of his tours in the Force Robbery Squad, the Serious Crime Squad and his secondment to No1 Regional Crime Squad then turn to his tour of 3 years as Branch Commander No 1 Regional Crime Squad.

Eddie was commended 9 times by Merseyside Police, 4 times by other Police Forces, 4 times by Crown Court Judges, by the Police Complaints Authority and was commended twice for bravery. 

He will enlighten us about ‘Operation Snooker’, a ‘cops and robbers’ tale which covers what they were about in the late 1980s and early 1990s period.

I think this will be an interesting and enlightening talk and will show us the changes in Policing from the 1980s when Police were allowed to do their jobs to now when their hands are tied more tighter than the criminals.
