Speaker Meetings usually take place as above, But check to confirm on this page or the Events Page. All the usual Horizons facilities (apart from the book stall) will normally be available until then. Last orders for tea and coffee 10.45 am.

12/02/26 - Graham Stirrup – Historian, once more takes us down memory Lane to the 1950’s when there were hardships, new beginnings and happiness.
12/03/26 – Brian Topping, Customs Officer, returns to entertain us with stories of smuggling and sniffer dogs; you will access the next airport with greater knowledge and no smuggling.
09/04/26 – Bernard Nevin, Historian, will talk about Operation Fish, something interesting he stumbled across in Liverpool City Centre which will surprise you.
14/05/26 – Roger Browne, Jazz Player, returning to entertain us and fill the room with his amazing talent on the piano, singing and stories telling of ‘Anything Goes’.
09/07/26 - Vivienne Parry OBE, Writer, Broadcaster and Scientist, will enlighten us about Genomics, and how genes are expressed, focusing on the structure, function and inheritance of an organism’s genome such as health and disease. Vivienne is an outstanding speaker who, 10 years ago, came to tell us about "The Genome Revolution - The Future of Diagnosis and Personalised Treatment" as part of her government remit to inform non-scientific audiences.
13/08/26 – Eddie Humphreys, Police Chief Instructo, will talk about ‘Operation Super Grass’ and the planning and work behind the surveillance to apprehend the criminals.
10/09/26 – Membership – no speakers
08/10/26 – Pete Turner, Magician, will entertain us with another of his amazing lectures ‘Curiosity Killed the Cat’.
12/11/26 – David Hearn, Historian. Appropriately, as we are entering the Christmas period, David will enlighten us with ‘Christmas Traditions in Britain and around the World’.
