This friendly group focuses on exploring the world of Shakespeare through the study of individual plays and sonnets, not as an academic course but an occasion to enjoy our greatest writer at any level we choose.
No previous knowledge is required and any new member with an interest in Shakespeare is very welcome. And don’t worry if Shakespeare is a distant memory!

In 2024, the group has been exploring Twelfth Night, to be completed in December.
Then at our first meeting in the New Year on Tuesday 14th January, we will be watching a DVD of Twelfth Night . This will start at 1:30 pm at HQ.
In February 2025, we will be starting a new play, Anthony and Cleopatra on Tuesday 11th February. The meetings will take place, as normal, at 2 pm on the second Tuesday of the month in the larger room at the Scout & Guide HQ.
We are a very friendly group and we will be delighted if you would like to join us, as we explore one of the great Shakesperian tragedies.
You will need a copy of the play. There are many editions, but check that you have one which includes line numbers, as these are very helpful.
No previous knowledge of Shakespeare is required – so come along and enjoy the play!
If you would like further information about the group, please contact Leader, Eila.
