June Walk Monday 15th June 2026. Start - 1.30pm

Leader Today - Liz Smallwood

The start point is at Sollom (Liverpool Old Road)just off the A59

From Ormskirk go through Burscough and Rufford, and about a mile past the turning to Croston, (A581) there is a sign for a right turn to Sollom.  This is a slip road which leads back onto the A59 a bit further on.  Parking is on this slip road and this is where we meet.

The walk is 4 miles.  From the slip road we walk down to and cross the Leeds Liverpool canal and then take farm roads to the estate road leading to Bank Hall.  This was a ruined Jacobean house and included in the TV programme, Restoration.  It has now been converted into flats and there is no public access but it can be seen through the main  gates.

We then walk back to the main road, crossing the canal and the River Douglas to return to Sollom.  The walk is flat, there are no stiles.

No need to book on these walks - just turn up on the day.

Please wear good footwear for all walks.
